We finally got back out yesterday, went to poormans canyon. I made all of the suggested changes and low and behold 5 minutes after lines in mr marlin came up on the dink bait on the flats behind the squid daisy chain. After several long drop backs he hit.... turned out to be a blue and just about spooled us on our 50tw. Unfortunately we pulled the hook several minutes into the fight A few hours later.... same flat line... this time a white and again several long drop backs before he took it, unfortunately same outcome... pulled the hook after several minutes . One more shot later in the day but just could not get the white to take anything..... some awesome sightings of her down several feet swimming below the "pearl" squid chain teaser! she was very lit up!! All in all I was relieved to finally see some bills behind our boat!! Just need more practice in finishing the deal!!! It was a sloppy day offshore (20 knot winds... 5-8 ft seas out of the north) which definately hindered our fishing.... and forced some guests to "disapear" in the bedroom/head most of the day praying we would be heading back soon . Again I appreciate the suggestions, I definately think they made a difference!!
