ANY APPLE PROS ON HERE?

Seems I've ben thrown a curveball...

When I boot up the computer, I get the normal "boot up" sound, but no other sound is available or working with any programs or videos... just started this morning.

In PREFERENCES, it is not giving me ANY source (should show Internal Sound)

Any help?

im not really sure.....but i see the mute thing on the bottom is checked off like its on

It's actually "grayed out" and not letting me move the slider bar to adjust volume or un-check that box...

I do get the sound once the machine is rebooted, but that's it. For some reason, it is not picking up any sound source.

Well...

That was puzzling. IF THIS EVER HAPPENS TO YOU, reboot with the power cord out of the laptop! Now everything seems to be working and this is the first "bug" I have found in 4 years working on MACS.

Ive only been on the net for a year and I know that a PC has a mind of its own and changes things around at any time. Seems that every time I get an update that I have to learn to cope with it and relearn it all over again. By the way, my wife calls it the machine from HELL!!!
