Airlines Gripe my butt

Back the first of September we booked our flight from RDU to San Jose for January leaving on a Friday to arrive in San Jose at 11:40am which gives us plenty of time to catch the puddle jumper plane to Puerto Jiminez at 3:00. The last 2 years we flew Delta because we weren't able to get the American flights. We pushed it to get off the plane, get our luggage, go thru customs, and hoof it out of the terminal to go to the little terminal to catch the puddle jumper. The American flights have always worked better because of time and so we wouldn't get so liquered up at the Mojito bar. We had 2 guys that decided they wanted to go with us so Monday we went online to book their tickets and found out our flight from Miami had changed which would mean not getting to San Jose until 1:25. Not enough time to make our connection. They did not notify us of the change and had it not been for the fact that we were getting 2 more tickets we would not have known. If we miss the connection we lose the tickets($1536) and lose 2 boats for Saturday($3,100). What gripes me is they don't give a crap. I am curious to see if they will bend a little and switch us to a Thursday nite flight and pay for 3 rooms in Miami.

Yeah - good luck. It has always amazed me that airlines cancel and move flights with no notice or responsibility, but want to charge you $75 to make the slightest change...

My job used to involve a lot of travel - that was one of the major reasons I switched roles - no more 100000 miles a year...AMEN

After last years holiday travel plans destroyed by SPIRIT AIR..i vowed to never again fly domestic carriers,aside from southwest and Hawaii air..all the others are a joke..this year traveling from OIB to Ct..we be flying AIR DENALI. with the E-Z Pass on the dash..Garmin and Escort Stealth...NC to CT 9 hrs...watch for me on the 6 oc news..

After a near miss arriving for a cruise, I always get where I'm going early....airlines may f*ck up, but a cruise ship leaves on time.........

No more exotic than you going to Alaska Frank except where I go it is warmer and you don't have to wear as much clothes.

I guess persistance pays off. I did not get exactly what I wanted but I guess bugging the crap out of the airline they relented to change our tickets to the evening before so we could catch the early flight in Miami at no cost. I wasn't able to get them to spring for the rooms in Miami but I can work on that later. I am just glad I got it worked out. Looks like we will have to slide over to South Beach to check out the nite life.
