This is one of those problems that is much like an iceberg, only a little is in plain sight. I can't even get started without writing 10 pages... a short key might be "permits" workers, once they have work permits, they have to make minimum wage, be taxed, have a place to live, the people hiring them won't want that. Then we'll get into why Americans won't take the jobs...nah.... I quit....I'm for some controlled immigration. not the bomb job going on in Arizona.....

Since NAFTA, many businesses moved south of the border and overseas. If we stop immigration, businesses will again go south so manufacturing costs are kept low, and taxes are nil.

Also, who can afford a decent place to live in California?Arizona?Washington?Oregon? on minimum wage? Maybe a rat and cockroach infested trailer with no running water and no electricity during peak hours!

We need controlled legal immigration so people who go through the proper channels can come here legally. When we catch drug smugglers and convicts we should send em to Guantanamo bay and let them swim home...........we could even give em a stack of innertubes as a token of good will!

If you come to this country illegally, and drop a baby........it should not be an automatic American citizen. Along with all the benefits of being an American? If you think it should...........you can defend this country against attack.....Im busy.
Point is this, Everything has become so political...... not just legal anymore. Fine by me, I just refuse to defend it.
Also, I like mexicans.....I find them hard working, polite, hard working and friendly. Problem in this country anymore, laws dont matter,......... politics matter. There isnt a clear answer to anything anymore. At least not if your a white guy, 50 years old, with a full head of hair. Dark hair. Everyone represents a special interest group.....except ME.

There has been NO modification of the immigration and naturalization laws since George W. Bush made the above statement. I see lots of unemployment here in Florida but NONE of those people will pick the tomatoes or oranges. Whenever they've done immigration crackdowns here the oranges rot on the trees. Our immigration laws need to change but unfortunately there will never be any bi-partisan support for this so hopefully and the dems will go it alone and fix another problem in the country. Give the tea baggers something else to ***** about.

Well said hubris! We need guidelines that must be followed. The kids shouldn't be citizens until the parents are citizens. But that is too logical for politicians!

The folk's of this Country are now allowed and encouraged to be lazy. Why work when the money and benifit's just get mailed to you twice a month??? Pride, what is that? The Apostle Paul was right, "if you don't work, you don't eat"! To the very heart of the issue, if the work wasn't here they wouldn't be here either. What problems have the Dems fixed lately? Unemployment?
Energy? Real estate market? Iran and North Korea by talking nice to them? Transparency in government?
Perhaps oranges rot on trees because it is easier for the will nots to receive necessities easily from the government without working than it is to get out of bed and do a job, period. I would rather pay more for products than subsidize those sitting on their posteriors.

No one plans on fixing anything anymore. Where the hell have you been. Today, you dig a foxhole where you live and defend that position. Turn on the TV.....they got the answer. Turn on the Radio........they got the answer. Open the news paper.......They got the answer........stop me when you get dizzy! OK, turn on the tea baggers........I get dizzy too. None of it solves anything anymore. I know this........unless the enemy is coming up my driveway, I dont care anymore.
