Need advice. I have been going back and forth for a few months now on which to get. I am going to be purchasing two new reels in the near future. They will either be Penn 50 VSW's or Penn 6/0 HLW senators. I know that's quite a difference but I need justification. Here is my situation.
I will probably only offshore fish 4 to 5 times a year. Most of my fishing is near shore or in the Cheasapeake Bay. The 6/0 would benefit me more for the type of fishing I do and also handle most tuna, wahoo, dolphin, and possibly a marlin. The 50 VSW, I could mostly only use for offshore fishing, but I do like the fact that I could have gold on my boat.![]()
Also I have nothing big like the 50VSW. I have a Penn 4/0 and 6/0 narrow spool and three TLD 25's as my current "big gear". So 50 VSW's or 6/0 HLW's?
What would ya'll get given the above situation?
