Mine goes to the Oops page but then gets directed to a different site. Here is the direct link to the nominated areas.

Who nominates these areas? What criteria do they use for nomination? What can we as taxpayers do to counteract nominations? Obviously it is not voted on by the public. I am not sure that joining RFA and other organizations is enough.

Barry, you can go to http://mpa.gov home page were the whole process is well detailed. You will need a couple of hours to get thru it all and then another couple to try and understand the whole convoluted process.
What wearies me the most is I have not been able to find (in all the posted information) the specific geographic boundaries for the MPA's and what restricted fishing means.

Thank you. I will see what I can find out. My son works for North Carolina Sea Grant. I think that he would have some idea.

What does fishing restricted mean? Are they going to designate where and when fishing can take place on Hatteras and Lookout?

    WOW

What really sucks is how hard they make it to find the info. On my laptop I have to zoom in and out to read anything. I never did find it, that sucked. Thanks for the link, I will look again tomorrow...
