The company that the ads wer done for just opened a new store in Charlotte NC and they had people camping out for a couple of days just to be at the head of the line because they were giving away some kind of chair to the firs so many people thru the door.

I wish they put the same amount of effort into quality of product as they do their advertising. The stuff they sell in their stores/ catalog is garbage. My wife had a love of the euro look and bought stuff from there...it all fell apart. The silverware we got from them less than 6 months ago is already rusting.

In that last commercial, the tag line at the end should have been "IKEA, where you can get screwed without getting kissed."

pure junk. I won't let that crap in my house for free.

wow! i bought some IKEA stuff when they first came to the states and still have some. I guess they must be farming out their manufacturing to China??

In fairness though, my lovely bride did buy their apple corer/ wedge slicer and that has not broken yet. It's only 6 months old but it hasn't broken.
