2007 Brown Dog Services Project Reel Auction and Dinner
January 24, 2007
My name is Steve Sheetz, and I am the executive director of Brown Dog
Services Project Reel. (www.browndogservices.com) We are a non profit organization that works with at risk teens. In short, we take kids fishing, send them home with a rod, reel and a tackle box and hope that the next time they are board, they will go fishing as opposed to getting themselves in trouble or do something that is self destructive. The program begins in March with the early shad run and continues through the middle of December or when rockfish bite slows in the bay. The program costs approximately $100.00 a day per child to run. Last year we helped over two hundred at-risk teens, and this year we projected taking out 350.
We are currently in need of items for our 2007 fundraising auction. As a contributor to our program you name and logo would appear on all promotional fliers, our web page, and any other promotional items handed out throughout the 2007 season. The auction and dinner will be held on April 28'th from 6-11 in Fairfax, VA. Tickets will be available through our web page beginning Feb. 1. If you can help in any way, please contact me at your convenience, or mail any items to Brown Dog Services, 2335 Millennium Lane Reston, VA 20191.
Our Tax id # is 04-3818009, you may need that for tax purposes.
Till next tide,
Thank you
Captain Steve

There is a pay pal account on the web site. Thanks it is a great joy to watch teens catch their first fish and get hooked for life on something positive. I have never seen a kid commit a crime with a fishing rod in their hands.
