I did my time in harms way, Dude. And, I didn't like being lied to in the 70's anymore than I like lying politicians now. After that experience I swore I'd never be silent again when a President sent the forces to war in a lie. I've been true to that vow.

Shall we reopen the can of worms about WMD's. I'm up for it. Are you?

Please bear in mind that supporting the troops, as you right-wingers suggest you do, includes being concerned that their freely-given lives aren't squandered by some corrupt, lying politician, regardless of his political party. Republicans who like to say their all patriotic and stuff and who condemn as un-American anyone else who disagrees with continuous war and the wasting of young American lives seem to be the least likely to actually care about those lives (now approching 6,000 wasted) to the point that they insiste their leaders justify the taking of those lives.

And, you call yourselves patriots. I call you morons and cowards who are captive to the mythology spewed about the honor of war and those who fight it.

Immediately after the Iraq invasion (which was sold to the American people as an existential fight against a country that had WMD's and would provide them to terrorists) had succeeded in pacifying Baghdad I turned to my son and made a forecast.

I said, "Son, objective analysis persuades me that there never were WMD's in Iraq and I don't believe they'll ever be found (they weren't). But, given the quick defeat of the Iraqi forces Americans will likely not care about that for every long. They'll more likely think that this was an admirable demonstration of the force of American arms and, like spectators in a football game, will revel in our victory...to the point that they won't care."

Within 3 weeks of the fall of Baghdad a poll was conducted which asked if respondents cared if WMDs were ever found in Iraq. If my memory serves me, a whopping 81% of respondents said they didn't care. This in the light of almost 700 American casualties during the invasion, with many killed.

It was then and there that my Son and I agreed that he should never serve in the military, as I had done. His life, and I would suggest the lives of all service personnel, are too precious to be squandered on the basis of lies. It only took three weeks for the American people when polled to have overwhelmingly discounted those lives.

Please tell me what about this idea you, supposed patriots, disagree with.

Above I related a story of a poll taken 3 weeks after Baghdad was secured and in the aftermath of almost 700 U.S. casualties to do so, with many killed, where 81% of Americans polled said they didn't care if WMD's were now found in Iraq. 81% of Americans didn't give a good damn whether those lives were squandered for lies.

Hatt now shows up all loud, proud and lightly endowed and wants to "honor" the fallen. Well, well, well, Hatt.

May I ask if you were among the 81% of Americans who didn't care if WMDs were found or amoung the others who did and felt the boys lives were squandered? Be honest now, Hatt. You didn't care then, did you?

You didn't care then because it was unfashionable to care. You care now only because it's fashionable to do so. You're a man of extremely flexible principles and a spine to match. If you right-wingers had a motto it would be "Principles. Shrinciples. Whatever's convenient"

I cared then and I care now. Get the boys out of those Hell holes. They were never worth a single one of our guys.

Here is a woman who should run for Prime Minister!


Written by a housewife in New Brunswick , to her local newspaper. This is one ticked off lady...


'Are we fighting a war on terror or aren't we? Was it or was it not, started by Islamic people who brought it to our shores on September 11, 2001 and have continually threatened to do so since?


Were people from all over the world, not brutally murdered that day, in downtown Manhattan, across the Potomac from the capitol of the USA and in a field in Pennsylvania ?


Did nearly three thousand men, women and children die a horrible, burning or crushing death that day, or didn't they?


And I'm supposed to care that a few Taliban were claiming to be tortured by a justice system of a nation they are fighting against in a brutal insurgency.


I'll start caring when Osama bin Laden turns himself in and repents for incinerating all those innocent people on 9/11.


I'll care about the Koran when the fanatics in the Middle East, start caring about the Holy Bible, the mere belief of which, is a crime punishable by beheading in Afghanistan ..


I'll care when these thugs tell the world they are sorry for hacking off Nick Berg's head, while Berg screamed through his gurgling slashed throat.


I'll care when the cowardly so-called 'insurgents' in Afghanistan, come out and fight like men, instead of disrespecting their own religion by hiding in mosques and behind women and children.


I'll care when the mindless zealots who blow themselves up in search of nirvana, care about the innocent children within range of their suicide bombs.


I'll care when the Canadian media stops pretending that their freedom of speech on stories, is more important than the lives of the soldiers on the ground or their families waiting at home, to hear about them when something happens.


In the meantime, when I hear a story about a CANADIAN soldier roughing up an Insurgent terrorist to obtain information, know this:


I don't care.


When I see a wounded terrorist get shot in the head when he is told not to move because he might be booby-trapped, you can take it to the bank:


I don't care.


When I hear that a prisoner, who was issued a Koran and a prayer mat, and fed 'special' food, that is paid for by my tax dollars, is complaining that his holy book is being 'mishandled,' you can absolutely believe, in your heart of hearts:


I don't care.


And oh, by the way, I've noticed that sometimes it's spelled 'Koran' and other times 'Quran.' Well, Jimmy Crack Corn you guessed it,


I don't care!!
