FL White's Tackle Fishing Report 5/4/09

Good morning,

I hope everyone enjoyed the nice weekend. Most everyone I spoke with enjoyed pounding dolphin this weekend. I spoke with several friends and most all caught an average of 10-15 dolphin. Most were gaffers and most had at least a coupe of fish in the thirty pound range. There were a couple of wahoo caught both days and several sailfish. There were also some nice kingfish caught in the tournaments on the beach from here to Jupiter.

Inshore fishing was pretty good as well. I went yesterday morning for a few hours and found plenty of nice fish to the South although only a small percentage would cooperate. We ended up catching a pretty good number of trout the largest at 9 pounds. They were caught on black and gold Sebille's in less than 1' of water. I found a huge school of laid up snook in the same area but it was mid day and they didn't want to play the game! There were a few redfish caught on Saturday North of Round Island and some in Grand Harbor.

Have a great week, it looks like a good time to re-rig with wind forecasted all week (surprise, surprise!)

-Scott
