Wet Dream Wins Captain's Cup Sailfish Tournament
ISLAMORADA, Florida Keys -- Team Wet Dream earned top honors and a winner-take-all check for $25,000 during the eighth annual Islamorada Fishing Club Captain's Cup Sailfish Tournament that took place Dec. 9.
Led by Captain Glen Miller of Islamorada, anglers Kevin Clark of Islamorada, Sam Worden of Traverse City, Mich., Frank Juliano of Key Largo, Fla., and Hunter Barron of Tavernier, Fla., scored nine releases for the win.
As well as the cash prize, the victorious team received an invitation to the 2011 International Game Fish Association Offshore World Championship to be held in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
Second place went to My Sea Cin, with Captain Randy Towe of Islamorada at the helm. Anglers Steve and Cindy Orton of Coral Springs, Fla., Freddie David of Hollywood, Fla., and Jill Clark of Islamorada released seven sails.
Third place went to Challenger 2 for releasing six sails. Led by Captain Rob Dixon of Marathon, Fla., anglers were Brian Deveries of Grand Rapids, Mich., Chris Jones of Islamorada, Jesse Leboeuf of Tavernier and Dave Munning of Harbor Island, Bahamas.
Sixty anglers fishing from 16 boats participated in the tournament, releasing 67 sailfish from 85 hook-ups.
