Today was a nice day fishing off Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. With beautiful weather in the 70's and the sun shining, its day like today that we like to be out on the water and fishing.
The Sailfish bite has been good with one to two fish a half day trip. We have seen a decent October and November is shaping up to be a strong month, hopefully the bite continues to stay consistent. In addition to fishing off shore of Ft. Lauderdale, we do head down to Hollywood which is about 13 miles South and we do get some good bites off the South Florida wrecks, like Grouper, Amberjack and the Sailfish are moving through these areas and feeding off the bait fish in and around the wrecks.
Using boat live and dead bait in depths of water on and around 130 to 180 seems to be the best bite. Current, wind and the migration of Sailfish down our South Florida coast line is really when the bite turns on. We have fish constantly moving though, however when the bite is red hot is when the cold fronts are pushing the cold weather and the fish start to move.
