Teens and 'Tweens Can Find Sailfish Action in Keys Tournament
ISLAMORADA, Florida Keys -- Anglers age 16 and younger looking for an exciting form of recreation can find it by competing in the Islamorada Junior Sailfish Tournament.
The 46th annual all-release challenge is set for Friday through Sunday, Dec. 17-19, matching teen and 'tween fishermen with experienced local captains and mates.
The trophy tournament is to be headquartered at Oceanview Inn and Pub, mile marker 84.5 in Islamorada.
The excitement begins with a Friday night kick-off party at 6 p.m. at Oceanview.
Fishing is slated Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 18-19, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and the awards banquet and barbecue is set for 6 p.m. Sunday at Oceanview.
The entry fee is $100 per angler, with a maximum of six anglers allowed per boat. Entrants are encouraged to show their holiday spirit by donating a new toy for Toys for Tots.
