My eldest son, one of his college buddies and I went out of Ft. DeSoto yesterday morning. Wind was up a little so we decided to stay in the upper bay. We saw a lttle action W. of Egmont then went across to the Flats E. of Ana Maria Island where we hooked up with some nice trout. We continued heading East got into a few short reds and more trout. We cut across as the wind layed down under the Skyway Bridge caught and released several grouper then headed North to the flats again. Picked up a couple of small sharks, undersized trout and the usual Lady Fish etc., then headed North again where we got into some nice trout action on Mirror Dean lures and soft plastics. Finished the day West of the boat ramp in a channel caught a few more trout and a couple of jacks. Overall a nice day on the water, plenty of fish for dinner.

On the way home to Lakeland on I -4 road debri blew my left trailer tire off the rim, ruined the rim and mangled the fender, but we were able to safely get off the road, changed the tire and headed in. It did not ruin my day could have been worse.

A pleasant day on the water. It was curious that we did not see tight schools of Greenies until later in the day West of the Sky Way Bridge and the birds were not working.

Have a great week everyone.
