You know... When you live in a place like this you lose track of just how cool it can be. I did a morning charter in the skiff catching mahi, bonito and kings. Said bye bye to the passengers then for fun I tucked inside to see if I could get some spanish macks for marlin bait... Yeah I found them but then it dawned on me how cool it was to catch a host of other stuff in between the macks. Finally picked up my camera and started shooting...

Nope... No sewer carp... They don't make it this far down. We get their cousin the snook... We do get a couple species of flounder though. A bout a half mile from where I was sitting we have an area you can get reds, snook, trout, flounder, puffer, etc. Another half mile up the line loads up with bluefish and jacks. Where I was, on occasion gets permit and pompano...

Off the beach I do... The ones off the beach are a bit bigger. Some times too big... Inside there they seem to be at that ideal bait size. I sling a block of chum and tip jigs with shrimp... Sometimes the jigs get a bit deeper than I like... Also get pompano or even permit some days...

I'm gonna be mahi mashing and swording this week and I'm in the process of thinning the freezer down to load with Bimini stuff... I'll see what I can come up with...
