    Stuart 8-23- Dolphin

Decided at last minute to go out and see what was out of Stuart today. Left the house at 10:00 AM and launched the boat. Had no ice and some old ballyhoo, did not really to do much. Had to run out several miles to get out of the brown slop draining from the canals and overflows from the recent storm Fay. Finally started trolling in 150 ft just west of an area known as Push Button Hill. Just as we approached the North section of the Hill, we had a good hookup. Short fight and in the box goes a 20lb cow Dolphin. We determined that was good enough for dinner so we started to troll back in a ways, about 15 minutes later we see some birds working and then 2 quick knockdowns and the third knockdown started screaming line off the TLD 25. This was a good fish, we fought him for 20 or so minutes and finally got him in gaff range, a quick gaff and in the cooler he goes. After he settled down we weighed him at a whopping 40 lbs…We decided to run in to get ice and call it a day. Total time trolling was less than 1.5 hours. Seas were a little sloppy 2-4 with a short separation. Great day with less than 15 gallons burned. Enjoy the pics.

Some nice fish there. Great when you can take a slack day and fish - and have something good to show for it.
