SNOOK COMMITTING SUICIDE!!!!
What are the odds that the mullet run from Juno to Jupiter would coincide precisely with the opening day of Snook season? Despite extremely windy conditions, high surf, and the well-documented "snook kill" that occurred this past winter, beach fishing for snook the past four days has been as good as I've experienced it in the 23 years since I moved here. Unbelievable, really, including more slot snook than I can ever remember, although I'm strictly a "catch & release" fisherman. Where, you ask? Blowing Rocks and Seminole Point, two places where snook love to congregate on high tide and rough surf and ambush bait, and the tide these past 4 days has been absolutely perfect, with high tide falling close enough on either side of first light to ensure non-stop action -- at times, on every cast! And it really doesn't matter what you throw, although I've had my best success with a modified Crystal Minnow twitch bait. (Put a belt sander or hand sander on the lip, and cut it down so the bait only sinks-on-twitch a couple of inches beneath the surface. That way you won't get it snagged on the rocks.) I don't know how much longer this run can last, but it already has been one of the dream seasons of a snook fisherman's lifetime.

That's awesome. Have the beaches continued to produce? Blowing rocks is a special place.
