Skins and Fins charters , Islamorada report 7-31
Greetings once again from Islamorada, Key largo and the Florida Keys. This is the fishing report of the father and son team of Skins and Fins Charters Captain Ted and Captain Donnie Benbow and this is our fishing report for Key largo, Islamorada and the Everglades National park, Lets get to it!
Up on the shallow water flats off Islamorada, Captain Donnie has been polling his brand new Maverick HPX Micro skiff for big Redfish, some Snook, Small tarpon and bonefish,. This have proven to be very productive and If you are the type of Angler that likes to stand on the bow of the boat and site cast (hunt) for game fish, this is the trip for you!!.
In the backcountry of the Everglades we have been catching good numbers of redfish, big seatrout, Snappers and big Sharks and more. On the morning Shark trips we have had some nice sized tarpon hooked up too.
On the shallow patch reefs Captain Donnie and I have had great luck with nice sized Snapper, Yellow tail, Hogfish, Porgys and more. This is a great option for our guest that like to catch a lot of fish the can be kept for dinner.
Checking with the Offshore Charter boats, we have seen nice racks of Dolphin (mahi mahi) and tuna every day. The deepsea boats are also catching big Amber jacks "The Reef Donkey" out on the reef.
Want to give it a try? give us a call and please check out our new fishing photo's on our facebook site. 'Till then this is Capt Ted and Capt Donnie Benbow asking you to "Keep it in the Shallow grass"
