Sebastian Inlet fishing report 9-30
09-30-11 TGIF ANGLERS! FISHING IS PICKING UP ! LOTS OF VARIETIES INCLUDING SPANISH MACKEREL
Good morning!
It is a spectacular morning out at the Inlet. Tommy at the Inlet Bait & Tackle Shop said that there have been some BIG Spanish Mackerel caught, Snook, Reds, Flounder, Bluefish and Jacks. Most common bait used includes mullet and shrimp. Fishing seems to be picking up!
Our first angler today is of 8 yr old Eytan Ganon of Deerfield Beach. Eytan, his brother Leore, and their Dad, Meir - made their way back to the Inlet again last weekend. The boys had pretty good luck this time, including Eytan's 27" slot Red and Leore's nice Black Drum. Meir reported between 6:00-9:00am Sat. morning there were about a dozen Black Drum and a dozen slot Reds landed. After the bite slowed, the guys decided to cool off with a swim, then started fishing the beach. Lots of finger mullet were in the water and they ended up landing 8 Blues, several Jacks, missed about 20 bites and caught a bunch of short Pompano that were fun to catch and release. Great job, boys and thanks for the photos and update, Meir!
There will be a National Scholastic Surfing Association Contest at the Inlet on Saturday. As always, please use caution when casting into the surfing area.
Have a great weekend and send us your photos and updates!

09-29-11 THURSDAY: SLOW BITE IN THE AFTERNOONS; SOME CATCHES INCLUDE SNOOK, BLACK DRUM, AND REDFISH
Good morning!
It is crystal clear out at the Inlet this morning. The wind is blowing out of the West-Southwest at approx 4mph.
Lots of Anglers are taking advantage of the mullet that is plentiful out at the Inlet, as the mullet is great bait to catch many species, including Snook.

Our first photo today features Jason Dunn of Merritt Island who landed this nice 29" slot Snook Tuesday using live mullet. Great catch, Jason!

Our second photo today features Randy Dudley of Indialantic with two good sized Black Drum he landed off the north beach using dead shrimp Tuesday night. He landed 6 large Black Drum but only kept 2 and landed one catch/release Red. Randy used a crab that was dug into the sand on the beach, broke it in half as bait and landed that beauty.
