Sebastian Inlet fishing report 12-3
12-02-11 RE: BLACK DRUM, SHEEPSHEAD, BLUES, REDS, SNOOK AND TARPON
This morning winds are blowing out of the East at 22 mph and the water is choppy. There is a small craft advisory in effect and will probably extend through the weekend. Always check the coastal forecast prior to going offshore. We have a windy but nice weekend forecasted; if you can handle the wind, get out a do a little fishing!
Yesterday the Black Drum bite prevailed on the north jetty once again. Good sized Drum came over the rails in droves in the morning hours. We received an update from inlet regular Mike Ricciardi who was at the cleaning table by 9:30 with his limit, as was Tony Swiderski of Sebastian. Mike reported it was miracle that they both were able to bring their fish in without problems as lines were crisscrossed from anglers that were huddled on the end of the jetty. Diane Buyce of Melbourne scored once again but this time in an unusual way. Diane managed to land a 32" slot Snook on a dead line! She didn't care how she landed it; just that she was able to take it home. The lady has had a couple of smokin' hot days, way to go Diane!
Justin Foster of Melbourne Beach reported that he and his buddy Neil Meyer fished the north beach at low tide Wednesday after work and did pretty well. The men landed two short C/R Reds, 3 Black Drum, 2 Sheepshead, 1 Whiting and one Pigfish on live sand fleas and a Jack and 2 Bluerunners on cut clams. Although they did well, their targeted Pompano remained elusive. Thanks for the update Justin!

Our first photo today features 6 year old Wyatt Castellucci and his dad Anthony of St. Cloud. High wind and waves could not stop this determined young angler from landing his very first fish last weekend off the north jetty. Great job Wyatt!

Photo two features Charmane Beharie of Kissimmee with a nice Black Drum she landed Wednesday off the north jetty using clams and dead shrimp. Nice catch Charmane!

Our third photo is of Tom and Jean Miller of Delonega, GA. Tom is nearly 90 years old and has fished the inlet for over 50 years. Tom and Jean pose with their 10 Black Drum they landed Wednesday morning. Photo courtesy of Mike Ricciardi. Nice going Tom and Jean!

Photo four features Mike Ricciardi with a 30" Black Drum he landed Wednesday using dead shrimp. Nice catch Mike!

Our last photo today is of Diane Buyce with a 33" Black Drum she landed Wednesday off the north jetty. This big fish was heavy! Great catch Diane! Photo courtesy of Mike Ricciardi, thanks Mike!
Have a good weekend and don't forget to send in your photos and updates!

12-01-11 THURSDAY: BLACK DRUM AND SHEEPSHEAD
It's a chilly morning on the north jetty. We started off in the 40's early this morning but the temperature is rising and we should see the low 70's by the afternoon. It looks like we have another beautiful day ahead. Winds are blowing out of the North-Northwest at 10 mph and there is a moderate chop on the water. Small craft should exercise caution.
Yesterday morning it was all about the Black Drum bite. Black Drum were thick in the morning and early afternoon hours; they were coming over the rails one after another. Some anglers that arrived early limited out and were off the jetty by 9:00 a.m.! Dead shrimp and clams were the baits of choice. Several very nice Sheepshead were landed as well. A couple of straggler Catfish and more Drum, Drum, Drum!! A lot of boats were lined up outside the inlet channel looking for Flounder but we have no reports on the activity.
Today is Ladies Day on the Sebastian Inlet District Fishing Report. The gals did quite well yesterday and we are featuring them today. We also have some that will go up tomorrow, way to go Ladies!!

Our first photo is of inlet regular Diane Buyce of Melbourne. Diane landed this gorgeous Sheepshead using clams yesterday. Diane also had several big Black Drum, one that was 33"! Nice going Diane!

Photo two is of Julie Andersson with a real nice Black Drum she landed yesterday. This was Julie's first edible fish that she caught and cleaned herself. Great job, Julie!

Photo three is of Angie Dees of Southern California with her pole bent over the inlet side of the north jetty. Angie had a nice sized Black Drum on the end of the line and with a little coaching from inlet regular James Triplett, managed to get it over the rails. Photo four is of Angie's Drum, her first! Pictured with Angie is her husband Allen. Nice catch Angie!

Our last photo today features Carol Smith of Barefoot Bay with a good sized Sheepshead landed on clams off the north jetty yesterday. Nice Sheepshead!
