Sebastian Inlet Fishing report 10-9
10-08-10 FRIDAY: REDS, JACKS, BLUES, SPANISH MACKEREL, SNOOK AND SNAPPER
Winds are blowing out of the northwest at 11 mph and the water is much calmer today. Forecasts are calling for a mix of sun and clouds over the weekend and temperatures will be in the mid 80's. Get out and wet a line!
We've had a pretty good bite at the inlet this week, particularly for Reds. A lot of oversized and keepers have come over the rails. Big Jacks have been prevalent along with Ladyfish, Blues, Mangrove Snapper a couple of large Sheepshead, Black Drum and oversized and slot sized Snook.

Our first photo today features Mike Whittington of Ft. Pierce with a beautiful 37" Fat Snook he landed on live shrimp. It was Mike's first cast of the day but he didn't have much luck after that. Mike tries to fish the Sebastian Inlet every weekend he can. Beautiful Snook Mike!

Photo # 2 is of Mark Loya with a 37" Snook he landed and released. Very nice!

Photos # 3 - 5 were sent in by Desmond of Melbourne. Desmond was out on the north jetty yesterday from 1:30 - 6:00 p.m. and reported the bite was slow on the outgoing tide with mostly Jacks in the 3 - 10 lb range landed. The slack tide brought in Blues, Ladyfish, more Jacks and Reds but very few were keepers, most were over the slot. When measuring your Redfish, measure from the tip of the closed mouth to end of the pinched tail. Be sure to have your fishing license in hand! In photo # 3, Desmond poses with a Jack in the 10 lb range. Photo # 4 is of Bob of Orlando with a keeper Red landed off the north jetty yesterday. Photo # 5 shows an unknown angler battling a 3' Bull Shark. Thanks for the update and photos Desmond!
The National Scholastic Surfing Association (NSSA) will be holding a surf contest this weekend at the Sebastian Inlet State Park, please use caution when casting into the surfing area.
Captain Nick Price and Josh Beckett will be holding a "How to Fish Sebastian Inlet and Surrounding Waters" seminar Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. at pavilion # 4 on the south side of the State Park. Learn which bait to use, when and where to fish, fishing gear recommendation and fishing etiquette. For more information go to www.fischmore.com .
Have a great weekend and don't forget to send in your photos and updates!

10-07-10 THURSDAY: REDS, JACKS, SNOOK, SNAPPER, SPANISH MACKEREL, LADYFISH AND BLACK DRUM
The wind has calmed down some since yesterday. It's blowing out of the north at 13 mph and the water is choppy. It's a beautiful fall morning out there; temperatures are in the high 60's. Get out and enjoy it while it lasts! Our anemometer (wind gauge) will be down for another week, we had to order another one but you can still find the wind speed on the FIT Coastal Data link on the left side of the web cam page.
A real nice variety of fish have found their way to the inlet chasing the mullet that are migrating through. Reds, Jacks, Snook, Spanish Mackerel, Ladyfish, Snapper and Black Drum have been coming over the rails.
Rooster Thomas and his 11 year old son Angel fished the north jetty last weekend and had a great time. The duo met a lot of the inlet regulars and said they were all extremely helpful with tips on fishing the inlet. Angel landed a very nice Black Drum and an oversized Red that one of the locals helped him net. They will be back to fish before Snook season closes!
Night angler Kurush Akbari was at it again and got himself another keeper Snook on a jig last night, very nice!
Our first three photos today are courtesy of Skip Stowers of Orlando. Skip and his son Sean were fishing the inlet Monday night and got into some monster Reds. There were a lot of baitfish in the water, mostly mullet and the Reds loved the rough water! Thanks for the update and photos Skip.

Photo # 1 features Sean with an enormous Red he landed on the incoming tide; this big boy was over 41". Beautiful!

Photo # 2 is of Skip with a Red that was also landed on the incoming tide. Skip landed an 80 lb Bull Shark as well.

Photo # 3 is of some unknown anglers that hooked up with a big Red and you can see by the look on their faces, they're pretty excited!

Photo # 4 is of Rose Turner of Virginia. Rose was fishing the north jetty last weekend when she landed this big Jack using mullet. Photo courtesy of Tara Scianimanico of Lakeland. Thanks Tara!
