10-29-10 FRIDAY: SPANISH MACKEREL, BLUERUNNERS, BLUES, JACKS, LADYFISH, REDS, SNOOK AND FLOUNDER

TGIF Anglers! Winds are blowing out of the North Northeast at 14 mph but the water is fairly calm. The temperature is cooling down and we should have a beautiful weekend ahead of us.

Fishing has not been as great as we'd like but there is a good variety which is typical for this time of year. Reds, Snook, Spanish Mackerel, Blues, Bluerunners, Jacks, Ladyfish, Permit, Black Drum and Flounder have all been landed at the inlet this week. The past few days baitfish have been scarce but perhaps we will see more today with the shift in the wind pattern.

Last Friday, Nam Bui and his dad Vinh of Orlando traveled to the Inlet to fish under the full moon. They had a slow night until Vinh felt a huge pull on his line and ended up landing a 45" Red on a chartreuse bucktail. Vinh hadn't landed a Red in a while and forgot how powerful the big guys were, he was worn out by the time he got him in. After a quick photo the Red was released to fight another day.

After two hours of fishing Nam was ready to call it a night but saw a school of mullet pass and decided to throw a few more casts. That perseverance allowed him to land the 28.5" Snook in photo # 2. Thanks for the update and photos Nam!
