Sebastian Inlet Fishing Report 1-9-2011
Today we got out there slightly after the sun was up, started off in the Inlet while the current was slow. Threw some silver spoons and was able to jig for awhile and landed a few Bluefish, decided to try our luck along the beach heading South from the southside jetty and the Bluefish were thick! Seas were about 1-3ft, was still able to throw the jig a bit, had fish on left and right with silver spoons and plugs trolling at about 1.5kts. Around 11:00am we caught our first Spanish Mackeral for the day. After heading back into the Inlet on the West side of the bridge we trolled more as the Bluefish were scattered everywhere in the channel, landed another dozen including another Spanish Mackeral which was bigger than the one in the ocean. The picture with the Bluefish is from today, one of the last of the day in the channel west of the bridge on silver spoon.
On Friday January 7th the Bluefish were in the channel West of the bridge which is where the picture of 19 keepers is from. Most were of descent size, but between both days we caught at least 60 Bluefish in total.
