Wide Right Matt has finally arrived after a long struggle with my registration!

I grew up in Ft Lauderdale where I can remember my buddies and I getting up early on everyday off from school and riding our bikes to any water that we could fish! As we got a little older we started taking the city bus to Anglin's fishing pier and spending the whole day there!

While I was in school at FSU, I spent alot of time with my brother and other buddies fishing the flats of Apalachicola Bay for trout, reds, flounder, etc. and the Offshore waters off of the bay for grouper, monster amberjacks, cobia, giant snappers etc.

When I got home from school I met Capt. Jeff and decided to get pretty serious about fishing! I got my nickname from fellow Boat Ramp Boys pioneer, the Don Dadda of Lunkers, Oranse. He is a miami fan and was always getting on me about the missed kicks by FSU for all of their losses against Miami while I was up there in school.

I usually put in 3-5 days a week fishing from land and boats(mostly boats) with the boys! The other days are spent on rebuilding the Bertram over in Punta Gorda at Saltshaker Marine! That thing is going to be such a beast on the water!

FreshWaterRob Here. You know my story by my name. Been fishing freshwater since like 18 months old. I've had to catch 10,000 large mouth Bass or caught the same Bass 10,000 times. Didn't matter anyway. Gimme a lifejacket and see you after dark. Since meeting Capt. Jeff, he's trying to convert me over from fresh to salt. And lets just say, the more you want something the harder it seems to be. It can get stressful after you've completely blown 7+ tarpons in the 70 to 180lbs range. Then you realize, its not all about the fish!

Hey Rob, We have all had the pleasure of watching your "training" video. Hope you have that count down right

Welcome to you and the rest of the BR boys.
I think this place just got a little richer.

Thanks Bite Me. Believe it or not, I starting to enjoy it too. I'm quite fond of my "its a Bonita" line on the "Making the Crew" Video. Could I look any worse? Lamont(videoographer) has certainly showed the trials of Big Game Fishing. Then again, when fishing w/ Capt. Jeff its all business. Business=HIGH INTENSITY. And being my mentor, he certainly doesn't hold anything back. And lastly, keep enjoying me getting my ass handed to me. Because this is just the beginning of the true reality of converting from fresh to a serious Saltwater angler. Trust me. Lamont filmed over 400 hrs in my first 2 years and has plenty of footage to choose from. I can't wait.

    Ancient Mariner

    Hi All:
I wasn't born here, BUT , I got here as quick as I could!

I'm an ex comm. guy. I live in Deltona(not quite as far South as most).

Been lucky to fish just about all over the world as a comm. guy.

I go to fishing shows, give seminars on how to fish offshore.

Now,I make and sell lures and gear for the bottom bouncer to the offshore guys .

I own a 23 foot DUSKY now. Fish out of Ponce and anywhere else I can tow that baby.

I'm learning the specialty fishing that all you Florida fisherman do to be good at it.
