August 25, 2010 - Fishing Report
Blackfin tuna action on the humps is great right now. If you get some live bait and chum the tuna, it gets about exciting as you can stand it. Dolphin fishing is great if you like to go on long boat rides! The catching part leaves much to be desired, but if you get lucky there are still a few nice gaffers and schoolies out here. At the Hump amberjack are biting and lately the sharks haven't been a problem either for the jacks or tuna. On the reef the yellowtail bite is as good as it gets and there are a few grouper and mutton snapper biting from the reef out to about 180 feet. Kingfish are still here too. Mangroves snapper are biting on the shallow reefs. Tarpon and shark fishing is good in the evening in the near shore waters.
