January 26, 2012 - Fishing Report
Sailfishing is good right now and it should continue through at least March. Seems like we may have a later than usual sailfish season. There has been a good bite of Kingfish lately all up and down the reef from 90 to 180 feet of water. We have been catching some really nice blackfin tuna on the reef while sailfishing. Yellowtail snapper are biting when there is current and they are nice sized fish. Cobia are around if you take the time to find them, the water has been clear which is what you want to fish for them. On a recent trip to the Hump we caught the smaller blackfin tuna and there was even a sailfish out there. Dolphin have gotten to be spotty but they are decent fish when they show up.
