    Key West Bite is On!

We’ve had such good fishing for such a variety of things here over the past few weeks, its been difficult to decide what to fish for! Problems, problems.
First up, Blackfin tuna have been thick on some of the deeper wrecks, and we’ve had a great time with them when chumming with live pilchards and targeting them on light tackle. We’ve also had a good sailfish bite, with Pat and Dave Trotter of Sheboygan, Wisconsin going 2-8 on Sunday.
We’ve also had our share of cero mackerel and big kingfish… all really good stuff.
Here’s a report from Rob Tobek on his trip last week at his blog, the Outdoor Line. Check it out http://blog.theoutdoorline.com/post/...Fish-On!!.aspx
Check it out, give us a call and lets go fishing!

    Key West Kingfish 1/22/11

    Key West Fishing 1/22/11

Our winter fishing continues to get better and better, with some great catches of king mackerel, blackfin tuna, little tunny and king mackerel. All of the action has been on light tackle, either with live baits or artificials. Although we haven’t seen thekings in the Gulf yet, the Atlantic side has been fantastic. Key West local John Stuempfig had the chance to catch the king of a lifetime on Friday, boating a 55-pounder on a Fin Nor Marquesa 12. The catch was made on a live blue runner at the end of the Boca Grande Bar. In addition, he and fishing buddy Dave Chafin boated 4 blackfin tuna and a skipjack. We’ve still got some dates available this month, so give us a call and let’s get out on the water!

    Key West Report 1/23/11

We're still having some great fishing, despite yesterdays cold front. Had a chance to get out with brothers John, Jerry and Cliff Bilek of Casey, Wyoming and had a great day with blackfin tuna, little tunny and king mackerel, including a 30-pounder caught by Jerry. Going to take some big baits out tomorrow, put the kite up and see what we can make eat! Still have a few openings in January, so give me a call!

FL Key West Fishing Update -- October 5th

Over Under Sport Fishing Key West Up Date
OU Key West - Current Fishing Reports, Updates, and Information-105scherf6.jpg
We’re just starting to get into the beginning of our season and we’ve been having some fantastic fishing all the way around. We still have some dates available for Fall and Winter and Spring are right around the corner so if you want to get out and experience the best of what Key West has to offer, give us a shout!

Some of our best action has been in the Gulf of Mexico, and if you are looking to put some meet in your freezer, now is a great time to do it, as Steve and Mike Scherf of Philadelphia learned last week.

We had a chance to fish a couple of deep wrecks and managed recreational limits of big grey snapper (ranging from 3½ to 5 ½ pounds. Really some great action on light tackle. They also teamed up to catch several permit and some big barracuda, and 19-year old Mike was the Goliath Grouper slayer, releasing six of the big slobs up to about 200 pounds. I can’t tell you how many more he hooked – they are everywhere.

Offshore, we’re continuing to see a few late season dolphin, but that’s going to likely end as we say farewell to southerly breezes. That’s ok, though, as we just got our first cold front of the year, and the northeasters are signaling that the blackfin tuna, cero mackerel, sailfish and wahoo are right around the corner. If you are specifically interested in targeting some of these bluewater pelagics on light tackle, we have some openings in November and December so give us a call.

Flats fishermen will soon be shifting gear from permit and bonefish (all but the most resident tarpon have moved on) to spotted seatrout, redfish and pompano – all offering a tasty shallow water alternative.

Give us a call at Over Under Adventures Key West, 305-213-5369 or check us out on the web at fishou.com.
