Smile Oh My... A rod got bent...

Ok gang, nothing earth shattering here. Not gonna knock your socks off with an epic Deep saga... Weather is hot and so is my wife.
She's got a few sick and personal days from work to burn up before years end so she joined me as I shook the dust off the 31 today. Gotta love them 250 4 strokes... A month of no run and the second the key gets turned they start purrin.
Made that greuling half mile run to the gulfstream in a foot of chop. Heard a couple dolphin caught on one boat but not much else...Deployed the spread and instantly had neeters working over the day savers. Go ahead and turn your nose up at the less than loved critters but they bend a rod just fine and give you non stop action...
Slid on off deep to get away from them and soon found some nice fat skipjacks and small blackfins that also fell in love with our flat line offerings... Came on a solid acre of mullet migrating south but nothing working em. No sails, no wahoos, just a nice pleasant few hours bending rods and bonding with the missus...

hey deep..just got back 2 weeks ago from Palm Beach. Stayed on singer island. The mullet run was intense at the inlet. Bluefish were thick on them ( they followed me from Jersey), but we managed a snapper and a jack. Left some blood for the jacks at Sailfish Marina being an idiot. loved it down there. wish i stayed

Just so good to get out... Add to that a two minute run, warm weather, plenty of stuff to play with, and a smokin hot missus, it don't get much better. Now if I can just get a weather window to get the other boat loose from north Jersey I can forget about that cold grey lifeless land of nothingness up there for a few months...

that my friend is a plus...2 minutes and your on tuna..forgot to add that Cole works for plantationboats and he had a 33 vector waiting to get her decks bloody. we trolled on sat with some 'hoo and managed 2/3 on skippies. Stopped at a wreck and jigged up a small AJ, but the 20 knot winds with the current out of the north kept us moving over the wreck too fast. with some huge cells approaching we decided to make the run to jupiter inlet and take the intercoastal back. Cold, grey and lifeless is what it has been up here. need to make another trip...SOOON

If the potential Monday window stays open... I'm gonna go. I closed up the house in Rumson for the season. The van is here. When I do fly up. I'm gonna be stayin on the boat. I only can take one night of that when I'm not movin so the window has to be right. Next year is gonna be a different game plan. Not sure of what its gonna be but its not gonna be sit in that slip "hoping" the Hudson heats up.
Going where the fish are has always been my game. Sitting isn't part of that master plan. Would like to be back down here and already out of the yard by this time next year... That way the boss can take a break, come down and get at least some use out of his boats...
When I do get down you're welcome to come play as our goal is to get each boat out once a week at least to keep em running the way they should...
