First time I've had the boat out since Sept., and it ran great! This was more of an exploratory/shakedown trip than anything.

I left RB at 2 pm and got a half dozen finger mullet across from the ramp. I went to the north end of Bissitte Bay and used the north wind to slowly push me along the east shoreline. I worked back into a bay and noticed a couple reds on the windy side of a shoreline, so I concentrated on those type of areas.

I was working the shorelines casting a white plastic jerk bait, while slow trolling a couple finger mullet on long lines out the back. I saw several reds before I heard that wonderful sound of drag on one of the reels screaming in the back of the boat. I stopped the boat and picked up the rod, but nothing was on it. The mullet was dead, then the other rod, which had a bobber on it started moving off!
FISH ON!

I tried to wear it out before I got it near the boat, but dove under the boat a couple times before I finally got the 22" red in the boat.

I worked my way over to Mullberry and set up in a bay I've caught reds in before. The only thing biting was the swarms of no-see'ums as the sun started to set. I moved over to the other side and caught a nice little 14-1/2" trout on the jerk bait as the sun was going down and the full moon was coming up!
