    Monster grunt off Islamorada

    This pretty much summed up my annual trip to the keys

    We did catch some nice yellow tails and some smoker kings but the tuna and dolphin bite was OFF!
    I did catch this some years ago...

    The bottom machine was giving the surface temp of 89.3!
    Hey, we had fun and 25 lobster in 4 days so, I'm not complaining. The fishing is just gettin tough there

    Thats quite warm, late July and August blues. The water is just too warm. Sometimes you can't buy a bite inside of 20 miles this time of year. You have got to use a lot of fuel and burn out your eyes looking for signs of life out there.

    Snapper and lobster sounds like a fine dinner to me! I'm going over to Ft. Pierce in a couple of weeks to get some bugs.

    Good luck with the bug hunting. I wonder how the storm effected them!
    There were reports that theywereout to the Gulfstream and beyond to hit the weed lines and fish.
