Deep Sea fishing at the Florida Middle Grounds has been absolutely fantastic.

Mangrove Snapper have been biting their heads off during the night.
If there are any Red Snapper in the area, (and it is hard to find a place they are not) they chew as well. Often-times taking over the bite and chasing the Mangroves away.

Red Snapper are pretty much all over the place and fishermen have been hard-pressed to find a place to fish without catching them. (they are thick as fleas)

Gag Grouper have been caught on just about any hard piece of bottom as well. We are expecting a very good fall Grouper season.

Keeper size Red Grouper are a little scarce. There are PLENTY of shorts, and next year, Red Grouper fishing should be fabulous.

A little further offshore in deeper water of 180' and more, there are quite a few Scamp Grouper to be caught as long as you are not fishing behind a commercial boat. (which is relatively easy to do because there are not many commercial guys left)
