Marlin My Darlin Ft lauderdale report 11-2

Our Fort Lauderdale fishing report once again has mixed results. We have been catching King Mackeral in good numbers when we target them. The morning is best for these Kings, and most of the fish are under 10 pounds. Best depths are between 100 and 130 feet. Even though our morning fishing charters are cooler we are catching most of these fish on the deep lines, and most often on the rod fished furthest from the boat. One day we catch only a couple of Dolphin and then the next day we have a double digit catch. The majority of the Dolphin schools for us are inside of 700 feet of water. We are locating some of our Dolphin trolling baits and then switching to spinning tackle, but we have had a good number jump us as we fished live Ballyhoo targeting Sailfish on rip currents and color change edges just off the outside reefline. Sailfishing has been pretty good as we have now caught Sailfish on four straight charters, and these fish are large. We expect the little guys to show very soon and look forward to catching them. We are more than ready and never tire of those black shadows, large or small, beneath the bait as they move into the spread and zero in on their target.
Bottom fishing has slowed and been difficult, and we passed on that today as the seas were once again choppy. A lot of our future Fort Lauderdale fishing reports will mention Sailfish and Dolphin activity as they push thru our area on the weather fronts
