Marlin My Darlin fishing report. Ft Lauderdale 1-12 Wahoo

We are having some great weather here and the fishing in Ft. Lauderdale has been good. Blackfin Tuna are still holding just off the edge and are more than happy to bite on most days. Kingfish are inside on the reefs as expected. Sailfishing has slowed with the flat calm seas but there are still Sails in the area. The hottest species are the Wahoo. These fish are biting in water ranging on most days from 150 to 300 feet all along the offshore area of Broward County. Our nicest one was around 40# that got the best of us on Friday. Can’t get them all as we all know, but we are doing our best. Hate it when that happens We caught them on Saturday and on Sunday as clean clear water remained inshore and the Wahoo like to hunt in this type of water and we found them there. Dan Wobbi’s group chartered us on Sunday afternoon with Capt. Kopper at the wheel for this fish. First mate Lawrence as usual sported a smile, despite firmly hanging onto the business part ( toothy end) of a freshly boated and lit up Hoo. They will bite. These really are beautiful fish and here’s hoping they hang around past the moon.
