Kite for tuna

Hey Jeff, hope you had a merry christmas. I was thinking of trying some kite fishing up here this summer and wanted to find out what kind of kite you had. To me it seemed to fly well, and fairly easy. If you were starting from scratch, is that the one that you would buy, or is there a different one that you think would be better?
Thanks for the help,
Shoe

Kites

[quote=saltshaker30]Get the Bob Lewis Kite kit, it should have video and all. The Bob Lewis kites are the ones i use.

When will you guys start up there?

We won't start for tuna until July, but to get some practice we might try to get something flying in June or so for stripers. I just think that with all the dogfish up here, that if we could figure out a legit way to troll, that we might be on to something.

baits

For the stripers I would use a bunker or pollack for bait, but for the big boys I would use a 3lb bluefish or bigger on the kite. That should keep the dogs away!

I bought fishing kites to fish off of the beach (jetty also if possible), they arrived like 3 days ago and I can't wait to use them and catch a nice catfish

Nothing flys as good or easily as a regular 'ol parafoil from your local kite shop.

Actually I was thinking about kite surfing

I'm so skinny that a fishing kite would work

Hmmm. I think it would be possible with one of those wireless pin hole cameras and a battery. I would also need a video camera where I can plug the video cable to record and more kite line.

I ordered the kites in 3 sizes, don't know if I could have two of them to fly at the same time.

It would be awesome indeed.
