Tournament results: The Nut Deep, carrying a crew from Jacksonville and St. Augustine, fished their way to third place in the Southern Kingfish Association national championship last weekend in Biloxi, Miss. The team of captain Jon Cheney, Tony Alteri, Greg Alteri and Drew Lewis put together a two-fish total of 88.39 pounds — one at 39.84 pounds, the other at 48.55 pounds. The Fish Fever out of St. Simons Island, Ga., took first with 96.15 pounds on the strength of a 57.63-pound fish. The Nut Deep won a prize package worth $23,380.
