This is so true! I have caught MANY a large flounder walking the edge of sodbanks using a "brimbuster" fishing straight up and down at high tide in skinny water.

All kidding aside, Ive got to try this. Always interested in new ways to fish. I asume you mean to broadcast it about so the flounder thinks its a bunch of grassshrimp or small minnows, then hits my more tasty and bigger bait. White rice is on my list this year. My friends already think Iam crazy, but I do catch fish, even when they dont.

While fishing the pier in Cape Coral last year I caught 2 flatties about 21". A man from Ohio stopped to check my catch, saw the flounder, and while walking off told his wife "That fool is keeping stingrays, too warm for flounder. He must of never fished around here before." Those broiled "stingrays" tasted really good that night!

I see your point, but often I am drifting in 10-15' of water.
With the line out drifting behind the boat.
Dropping rice at the boat it should fall into my bait.
    Maybe attract one to me.
    At least thats the plan.
Again, your absolutely right about it being a flounder trick.
Thought it was worth a try for fluke

Yep just drop some at the boat and let the bait drift thru it.
Make that raw white and let me know if you have any luck.
Sometimes I think to much in the winter

Be aware tho, Your listenin to a guy that stuffed tampons soaked in menhaden oil down the throat of a mackerl bait for shark.
