I think you are mistaking West End with Bimini; but making the run from Palm Beach should not be a major challenge.

I kept my boat at Loggerhead's Harbor Islands Marina in Hollywood, FL the winter I purchased it. (Between Ft. Lauderdale and Miami on the ICW)

A very nice place and the staff was great. You'll find the pricing to be substantially less than something right in Lauderdale and the facilities will be at least as nice. The down side is that it's about a 45min trip to the closest inlet so if you are going to do a lot of fishing runs while you are there, it's not the best choice.
