On a solo mission on Friday I got the sail. Had a late start after being beat up the day before and got on the water around 9ish. Netted up ol faithful my friend the ballyhoo, and got the spread out. I found a nice color change in front of the PE and wham I heard my reel screaming. I was sure it was weeds as I heard the unfamiliar sound. I looked back and saw a huge boil and new it was on. Gave it the 3 count, put the reel in gear and saw the biggest dam sail I had ever seen start tail walking across the water. "Oh Shit" I said. Pandemonium broke in as tried reeling in the other three rods and tried to handle the fish. I hooked up in 200 of water and by the time we were finished I was in 650 feet. It was pretty cool. OUT OF THE BLUE charter boat was watching the fight for a while so I got to put on a nice show. I am officialy addicted to sailfish. That was the most intense fight I have ever experienced. What an awesome fish. I got the leader and popped the circle right out, not easy on a solo mission. Its not a shutout anymore.

Great job! Sailfishing is very addicting. I'll be there (pier66) for a day with the boat before jumping to bimini in march. Hope the bite is still hot then

FISHHOOKER. Nice work on your sail, Welcome to the club. I thought I had the Tarpon bug bad and did for a while and then I found the near shore Sailfish of which I can not get enough of.
