Despite people tellin me otherwise I hit the canals of fort lauderdale in search of the mighty tarpon. Got some bait and had the lines in by 5:00pm.
Got a nice hit at 5:30 and landed a huge Cuda. The cricle hook got him right in the corner. Big dog 15 to 20 pounds. I ussually keep the small ones for shark bait, but this guy would have taken up the whole freezer so he lived to see another day. Hadn't seen a tarpon yet, so I found some Snooky waters and lost a decent Snook near the boat. All and all good day, didn't see a tarpon til sunset and then they dissapeared again.
