Fort Lauderdale Fishing Report, Fort Lauderdale Fishing Charters / weather on the wa 8=24-1.jpg

Our Fort Lauderdale fishing charters are producing some nice catches for our clients. The best action continues to be taking place at the reefline in about 90 to 150 feet of water. Bonito remain ridiculously thick on most days. We had difficulty with them a couple of charters and then we located them way up inside the outside reefs in 45 feet of green colored water. Different. Usually when we have difficulty locating them (yes we do pursue them for some folks as they can pull really hard) we manage to find them out in 300 frrt of water or so, and also around deeper wrecks. When we did find them inside they were absolutely thick. A typical trip has these Bonito, Kings and a few Sailfish out in that 90 to 150 feet of water we spoke of. All of Eastern Seaboard Florida is of course watching Hurricane Irene closely. It looks as though the worst of the weather will pass to the East of us but nothing is certain. Hopefully we can fish another couple of trips before we feel the effects of this storm. In a perfect world Irene would just bend it out a ways further to the East and spare us even the slightest of deteriorating weather conditions. But as dear old Lindslay Forde use to say, and if you have followed us for severeal years then you have seen it here before: “ Never ever trust Mother Nature, because she’s a bitch”. Right on LF, we miss you. I was going to post a picture of a Wahoo or a fish rack full of fish but instead what you see today is Chris holding up the largest Cubera Snapper ever brought in by the Bahia Mar Charter Fishing Fleet. Chris was aboard the Marlin My Darlin that day, and the wheel man that memorable day was the late Capt. Forde. So we will hopefully get in a couple of Ft. Lauderdale fishing charter trips at least today and hopefully tomorrow as we wait and see what Mother N. has in store for us this time.
