Fort Lauderdale Fishing Report
We had four people on an afternoon trip today. The boats that got out this morning came in with a bunch of kingfish so we went right to trolling when we got to the reef. We caught four kingfish and one bonito pretty quickly then it seemed like the fish just shut off. We trolled for a little longer then stopped and caught some bait. We went to a wreck and made three drops but didn't get any bites. We tried for a barracuda on the way in but no bites there either so we headed back. Fort Lauderdale Fishing Report 07/28/09 We had five guys on an eight hour trip today. We were originally thinking of going offshore to look for some mahi-mahi with them but I wasn't hearing much going on out there so we started trolling the reef. The fishing was a little slower than it was a couple of days ago. We caught a few bonito then we found some kingfish. After putting some fish in the box we decided to go for something bigger. We caught some live ballyhoo and fished them for an hour without any bites. We went to a wreck and caught some small bonito then rigged them up and fished around a couple of wrecks but didn't get any bites there either. We ended up going back to trolling and catching a couple more kingfish and bonito before heading back to the dock. The guys had a good time and want to try it again when the mahi are around. |
