Fishing Report:
Fished the tidal part of the river 1/2 mile north of SR70. Worked a 1/4 oz jig with a gold Cotee Shad tail down the middle of the river. 73 degrees and sunny, beer is cold, water is warm (71 degrees). Caught 5 redfish and over 20 snook. Most were 16-20", but one hit in the mangroves and unexpectedly headed to the middle of the river and screamed 40 yards of line from my reel. After a 15 minute fight, a 32" snook was kayak-side. Perfect! It's like this everyday. Gotta quit my job. However, I do miss the Spring run of stripers at Graveling Point. Does anyone kayak there during the run? I've been in Florida for 15 years.

Fishing Report:
Living in the Savanna Club, Port Saint Lucie, Florida. I organize groups of 3-12 fisherpeople and go on the above headboats 2 times a week. $35,$10 tip, $3 pool. A lot cheaper than when I ran my own boat in LEH. We always, catch a lot and my favorite bait is small pieces of grunt. What I did not expect tho was that the seas here get rough as Jerseys and there are many trip no goes. I need to send Scott an order for his packages of frozen cut squid as nothing similar have I found.

Inshore north of the St. Johns River: The weather has kept a lot of anglers inside. The inlet has been too rough to fish at the mouth of the St. Marys River. The redfish bite was excellent when you could catch them sunning in shallower flats. Other than that, the sheepshead bite was still strong.
Inshore south of the St. Johns River: The whiting bite in the St. Augustine Inlet will be phenomenal if you can get out there and get anchored up. Watch those strong west winds and incoming tides. Sheepshead are being caught under the bridges and older dock pilings where there's some running water

Sheepshead anglers continue to have great results at the north and south jetties of the St. Marys Inlet. Fiddler crabs have been hard to find, but live mussels and clams are working just as well.
Anglers are reporting above-average catches of slot redfish, puppy drum and speckled trout.

In fresh water, the anticipated spawn of speckled perch around last week's full moon did not materialize. There are fish out there, but very few on the beds. Your best bet is to fish submerged treetops or on sharper drops off the lily pads or other shoreline vegetation in eight to 10 feet of water.
There was a strange run of baby bluegills this week in the St. Johns River; more correctly in the creeks off the river. It was an odd phenomenon. Anglers were catching fish about as fast as they could boat them. But it took 10 fish to get a keeper.
