Florida considers restrictions on bonefish
Posted on November 23, 2010
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission will hold two public workshops on possible rule changes that would make bonefish a catch-and-release-only fishery.
The workshop discussions also will include the consideration of bonefish possession exceptions for record purposes and tournaments. It will consider the creation of a registration program for tournaments where bonefish could temporarily be possessed and transported for weigh-in purposes.
The workshops will be held Dec. 8 at the IGFA Fishing Hall of Fame and Museum, 300 Gulf Stream Way, Dania Beach, and Dec. 9 at the City of Key Colony Beach City Hall Building Auditorium, Mile Marker 53.5, 600 W. Ocean Drive Key, Colony Beach. The sessions will run from 6-8 p.m. both days.
