Fishing trends LAKE OKEECHOBEE Bass fishing has been hot and cold, with fish biting good one day and hardly at all the next. Productive areas when the fish are biting have included Ritta Island, the West Wall and Bird Island. Plastic frogs, stick worms and live shiners have been the best baits. The lake level was 14.8 feet.
