FL Fishing Headquarters Fishing Report 7/6/09

Good morning,

I hope everyone enjoyed the weekend. I didn't get many fishing reports, I think most people were to busy sitting at the cove to go fishing. We attempted sword fishing Friday night. Unfortunately we had just got set up at dark and the Perfect Storm came. We had to run in Stuart Inlet and wait it out. Oh well. We did manage to catch some nice cobias Saturday morning since we still had plenty of ice and sandwiches. I did hear of some pretty nice snappers caught on the bottom, but not much in the way of trolling. There were plenty of tarpon on the beach and a LOT of bait.

Inshore the snook fishing has still been pretty consistent. T.J. Keifer caught two 9 pound trout on live pilchards on Friday. Another customer also reported some nice trout on I.R. Drive. There were some nice redfish to the North as of last week but I didn't hear much after the weekend.

Have a great day!

Scott
