Fishing with the group from Fire Stone Company and their guests aboard Hooked Up
November 9th, 2011
Today we had a few of the guys from the Fire Stone Company and some of their guests out for a few hours of deep-sea fishing aboard the Hooked up off the coast of South Florida.
We had Chris and Eric from Carmel Indiana Mark and Jim from Tampa Florida and Munroe from Rally North Carolina.
We started out trolling off shore looking for some good eating dolphin fish. While off shore trolling started out a bit on the slow side we had Jim on our side and it seemed as soon as he chummed the waters for us the fish just seemed to show up. Thanks Jim we never could have done it without you. (LOL)
Once we had a good box of dolphins we went into about 200 feet of water and set out our 2 kites with live baits suspended from them.
Ok so the trap was set and now all we needed was for some big sailfish to come along and take a bite. But all we kept catching were dolphins.
Than all of a sudden up popped this sailfish and before we knew it we were Hooked Up. Mark jumped in the chair and the fight was on. After a good 15 to 20 min fight Mark had his sailfish next to the boat.

As it turned out we had a banner day with a box full of dolphin, a nice sailfish and 2 ocean attic bonitos.

Guy’s thanks again for a fun day on the water hope to fish you guys again soon.

Having a ball even while fishing was slow
November 8th, 2011
Today we had Jeff and Sandy from Virginia and Dan from Indy out for a few hours of deep-sea fishing aboard the Hooked Up off the coast of Fort Lauderdale.
Truth being told fishing was just plain slow today and while the water looked great we were just having a hell of a time finding any fish.
But at last we headed off shore and managed to get Sandy to reel in a nice dolphin fish and everyone went next door to a restaurant/bar and had a killer Dolphin lunch along with a few ice-cold beers.

I guess every fishing story has a silver lining.
Guy’s thanks again for fishing with us aboard the Hooked Up.
I assume everyone a good time seeing we ended up staying out longer even though fishing was slow.
