41 bridges - .......trout are staring to show up now that we have colder water. Mirrolure MR17, or
D.O.A. Cal are good choices for lures, occasional black drum and rat red also.



Alligator Creek-......... Lots of Trout, mostly small, and rat reds, shrimp works well for both




Alligator creek reef "concrete reef"- ...... lots of sheepshead, fiddler crabs a little hard to get right now
so use pieces of shrimp or sandfleas.

Bay shore piers- . .................. an occasional trout and whiting




Bokelia - .......... no reports




Boca pass "from boat"..........some small grouper and mangrove snapper



Boca Grande canals . ...........lots of sheepshead, trout, mixed size gag grouper, Gulp nuclear chicken,
3" size shrimp working the best for the bigger trout.



Bull bay- - ...... trout and redfish in the potholes and the deeper grass flats. mostly small reds
but an occasional keeper mixed in. shrimp and cut sardines working well on the bigger redfish.
For the trout, the old reliable Johnson Silver Minnow in gold, Gulp 4" Swimming Mullet in rootbeer
gold, or the D.O.A. Deadly Combo, are excellent choices for artificials. Some nice sheepshead
around the entrance and the fish shacks.


Cape haze reef, -. ....... no reports

Cape Haze behind the bar- .... bonnetheads and trout.

Cattle dock ...... rat reds with an occasional snook




Charlotte Harbor 22' hole- ........ no reports

Coral Creek- .......no reports.




East Side "keys" the Islands which run from Alligator Creek to Pirate Harbor
. ...... Lots of rat reds around the islands, Bunches of Trout between the bar & the islands
lower half of the east side. poppin cork with live shrimp for the Trout. If you're looking for the bigger
trout, drift the bar at early light and try throwing a Zara Spook Jr. in the Bonsl color.




East spring lake -.........little slow


El-Jo bean pier- ....... sheepshead moving in better along with trout and redfish. Try a D.O.A. Deadly
Combo, a live shrimp under a poppin cork, or the old school tandem Love's Lure.

Englewood pier "Tom Adams bridge" ........sheepshead and whiting

end of Midway-. ...........water temp a little chilly but getting a few trout, mangrove snapper, and
some small sheepshead, an occasional black drum.




Gilchrist pier- ........... no reports





Gulf cove- ..........no report


Gulf of Mexico -. . ......because of gag grouper being closed in federal waters (9 miles and out),
not a lot of people fishing out there. those that are, are targeting the grunts and porgies, those
are probably your best bet if you're going.

Harbor Heights park- . ...rat reds off the docks up there and out around the islands.

Hog Island...... Rat Reds all along the Myakka side. D.O.A. 3" shrimp working well. a few trout
at the upper end entrance to the cutoff.




Hobbs point- ........lots of rat reds and a few mangrove snapper, work your bait slow. a few trout
out front, but mostly slow.



I-75 bridges "boat only" ......pretty slow, a few trout and an occasional rat red in the north channel



Laishley Pier - ,.......... trout, occasional sheepshead moving in and a few whiting



Little Gasparilla pass - ...... whiting and sheepshead around the docks


Mouth of the Myakka river, . ........... see Hog island



Myakka cutoff- .....some rat reds along with an occasional keeper in there, trout at both ends but
most of them running on the small side.


Navigator - ......no reports




Peace river above I-75 - . .......rat reds around the islands, work your shrimp or lures slowly




Placida pier // "trestle" //-,.... Sheepshead, a few odd ball back drum & the occasional Snapper,
starting to pick up some trout especially on south pier






Ponce de-Leon park- ... Sheepshead, snappers.



Port charlotte Beach pier- . ....... a few trout early in the morning with an occasional rat red



Port charlotte Canals Salt/brackish - .....no glowing reports but a few people catching the occasional
rat red and trout

Pirate Harbor- ........trout on Loves lures, Gulp Swimming Mullet, or shrimp on a poppin cork for those
of you that prefer bait. Cast the edge of the main channel with a live or dead shrimp on a Strike Zone
circle hook jig.


Punta Gorda canals - ..... Black drum and a few trout




Spillways along 41- ......... no rain, no reports




Stump pass- ,....... whiting





Sharkey pier "Venice" . ....... no reports



Skating Rink ........ no reports



Three sisters flats and islands - .........lots and lots of trout, but mostly small


Turtle bay- .........see Bull bay, look to the pot holes for the redfish, find deepwater 4 feet or more,
lots of smaller trout out front by the main channel with an occasional keeper thrown in.



Venice Jetties- . ...........lots of sheepshead


West spring lake docks - ...........no reports

Fresh Water- Canals, Creeks, Ponds, & lakes,....

.............Crappie, Bass slow working worms near the bottom the old bill dance 9-11 retrieve.
