Bud n Mary's fishing report Islamorada 11-6
Capt. Rick Stanczyk fished a half day today backcountry fishing florida keys. We ran back around flamingo and caught the end of the falling tide. We caught half a dozen small snook, much fun on light tackle! Also caught a few black drum and sheeps head. We moved to another spot and got into the ladyfish, and a couple small rat redfish. Good to see the snook around again. Capt. Bill Bassett reported catching some snook and redfish a few days ago too back there. This afternoon we fished again, the mackerels were very spotty, though we did catch a bunch of jacks and blue runners, along with some ladyfish, a few trout and snappers. The big blacktips were biting again, got one to the boat.

11/4/11 Hot Swordfish Bite!!! 4 Daytime Broadbills for the BNM!
DateSaturday, November 5, 2011 at 06:16PM
We had longtime friends David and Bob from Virginia out for some daytime swordfishing along with Vic, Nick and Richard on November 4th. We managed to catch and release 4 broadbill swordfish. All were on the small side from 10 to 40 lbs. They were still very pretty and it's a good sign for the future that there's still quite a few juveniles around. We also missed a couple other bites before calling it a day. Last year November and December provided quite a few BIG swordfish bites, so hopefully this year does the same.

11/4/11 Sailfish turn on for Kalex, early november fishing islamorada!
DateFriday, November 4, 2011 at 01:00PM
The Kalex fished today on 11/4/11. They reported lots of bait around, especially pilchards off the beach. The sailfish bit well for them. They caught 5 today! Catch 22, Reel McCoy, and Sugaree also reported catching some sailfish! Great to see them showing up, it is that time of year again, and with the cooler weather on the way, they should continue to bite well! Great november islamorada fishing!

11/3/11 November Islamorada Fishing.. mack attack, 400 lb goliath!
DateThursday, November 3, 2011 at 05:52PM
Capt. Rick Stanczyk fished two half days today on 11/3/11 for some november islamorada fishing report substance! This morning had Keith Krunk down with a group also fishing Capt. Jack Backus and Capt. Ed Cale. We fished out west trying for spanish mackerels since a few have been showing up since the temperatures have dropped. Today the wind fell down to 5-10 mph, from blowing over 25 mph yesterday out of the north! Lots of cool air, but at least not so rough today! The macks did not bite great this morning with the in tide, though we caught a handful and pulled some off. Lots of big ladyfish as well as some jacks and snappers. Kept us busy! This afternoon when the tide starting falling into the gulf with the wind behind it, it was game on with the spanish mackerel fishing! Had Jeremy and his dad out who fished with my monday AM, we had caught some trout, snapper, ladyfish, and a few macks that day, plus an 80 lb goliath. Though got drenched on the way in and caught in a nasty storm. They braved it again and had a beautiful afternoon. Caught probably 30 mackerels along with plenty of jacks too, some nice size mackerel too. The big blacktips were also chewing and going crazy, we got one to the boat and broke off probably 4 or 5 as they jumped and twisted, straightening hooks and breaking #9 wire! Lots of fun to watch! At the end we hooked something big on the bottom, not a black tip this time... We chased after it, too big to stop anchored. Thought it was a big nurse shark, but no - big 400 lb goliath grouper! Got him up to the surface and he soaked us with a splash of his tail. Got him up again and he calmed down for some pictures, close to 7 feet long! Great way to end the day for these guys on their florida keys fishing trip!
