Back to back duds

[Deep C]

Yesterday Deep C hit the blue for the first time in a very long time. Though it was a systems check run I still had baits in the water and pretty good water to play in. well, not so much as a sniff.
Took the 31 out today to test some new spreads. Started out deep hoping to get the baits in front of fish. Had a nice weed line to work. Kinda picket fence but enough mass and junk to where we should have got bit... 15 Miles to my north somebody found a tree and a couple guys scored good before a fleet decended on them and shut it down. Heard 12 miles out past me of some 12" microdolphin. Heard a guy bow up and eventually lose a blue. Even heard of a few sails picked. Considered a move but burning an extra hundred bucks worth of my boss's hard earned fuel just couldn't be justified.

What I didn't hear was my drags singing or even rigger clips popping. Drop dead gorgeous conditions... Saw some really small blackfins hopping around and had the toys in place that should have worked but they didn'rt. Saw a free flopping sail but none near the spread. Saw something blow up that kind of looked like a makoagain away from the spread.
Got near the edge and all seven rods went down but all with little bonitos.
Hope I can turn things around and find my own tree or telephone pole or pallet and shake the dust off...
