10,000 island fishing report
The change in the weather has defiantly had an effect on fishing. All is not lost though, we must just work a little harder. There are still plenty of small to mid sized Reds in the back country and some larger ones in the outside cuts and passes. The Spotted Sea Trout bite has been great, just remember the season on them dose not open again till Jan 1 .
Never in my memory have I seen as many nice sized Grouper on the inside, unfortunatly the season is closed on them also. Catching Grouper in the backwaters is just a blast because instead of going deep as they tend to do offshore they run laterally fast and strong.
Whiting and Silver Trout are moving inshore with the cooler water temps. Pompano and Mackerel are working bait on the outside points and flats. Lady Fish and Jacks are everywhere so "WHOOP IT UP AND HAVE SOME FUN".
One thing in fishing never changes "Find the bait and you'll find the fish" It is just more important now that thing have slowed down some. Another thing to remember is with the cooler temps we need to go to a smaller patern jig/lure and smaller baits.
